Music and the effects on the mind,

I'm a huge fan of music. I love listening to it all the time. Many times I find myself wanting a game, it's because I enjoy the music in it. I find that silence clouds my mind, I really can't say why, but it does.
When I listen to music, it's weird, because I find it helps me focus on other things, such as whatever work I'm doing, or when I'm having problems with games. In fact, if you've read my previous post, You will remember how I was talking about how much I suck at Asteroids. Well, that high score I couldn't beat before? I managed to beat it and then some. Through out the game, I was listening to the soundtrack to Castlevania. Yea, I don't know how, but that managed to work quite well for me.

Like I said, it helps me focus. It's like it clears my mind. When I was a high school student, I use to always want to listen to my CDs during math class. My teacher rarely ever let me do as such, but when he did, I found that I just cruised through my math as if it was no problem. By the way, I rather dislike math, it was one of my least favorite subjects in school.

I also find that music helps me sleep. Probably because as I said, it helps clear my mind.
My music is my life, be it in games, work, or whatever. I guess I just felt that I needed to talk about music here.

Thank you for reading, and keep on reading. I will hopefully have plenty to post as life goes on :)

The odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field....

So, I was on Gaming Union forums in the arcade earlier, and I was playing Asteroids.

Ok, so for the record, I love classic games. Of every game I have ever played, classics hold a special place in my heart... And then there's 2 games, Asteroids, and Missile Command....
I can't say that I hate these games, or even dislike them. It's more that they don't like me.
Missile Command, I don't play much because I don't have anywhere I can play it at the moment. I could play it more if my PS2 worked, as it's in Terminator 3 the video game as an unlockable, but it just doesn't seem to play well for me. Now that's not saying much anyway, seeing as I seem to suck at that game anyway.
With Asteroids.... I hate my abilities in Asteroids. For a quick overview. The one I play on GU forums is pretty much basic Asteroids, not regulation (as in close enough to the arcade version), but its standard. You get 3 lives, and gain an extra life for every 10000 points you earn (I'm not sure what the arcade version or the Atari 2600 version does it at, but I know that's not it.)
So I'm playing it tonight, and I'm trying to beat the current high score. Only problem is, my high score goes back to December of 2008, and I've not been able to even get that close since, AND THE HIGH SCORE THERE IS OVER 65000! My high score the time of posting this is 46940, and its third place. I'm lucky if I can scratch 30000
Ok, maybe I'm over thinking this, or I'm not giving myself enough credit, but the broken spacebar, the sore hands, and the huge chunks of hair laying around my chair (ok, maybe none of that is true... but it give you an idea of my frustration!) should merit more than an average of 21000 per freaking game!!!

Sorry this was simply just me ranting. I rather hate losing, and it seems to happen way too easy on that game.

Red Ring of ...... life?!?!

Today, I have witnessed what I think to be the craziest thing ever in the world of gaming.

Ok, do you know what an Xbox 360 is? good! Do you know about the infamous Red Ring of Death? Odds are, the answer there is yes. Here, about a month or 2 ago, My best friends 360 started red ringing. Oddly enough, it still works, but it does red ring. sometimes it will come on before doing so, then before reaching the dash, put up an error code. Sometimes it just freezes.. Sometimes it even works perfectly..

Well, today, his 360 Red Ringed again. Oddly enough, its while he's playing Alan Wake that it usually does this (I think its simply because he has an older model 360 that's been refurbished...) I had turned the system off after it froze during the game (again) and he turned it on. About 30 seconds after he had turned it on..... 3 red lights... So I reached to turn it off, and all of the sudden, it came on! The red lights were still flashing, but it was on, and was working... It worked for like maybe 10 minutes, I was getting ready to run home and grab my camera so I could put this on youtube... and then..... it froze..

Yea, so it froze, but the important part there was that it was running while red-ringed O_O Technology is strange sometimes

Frustration setting in....

I seem to have reached a complete standstill in any progress for FF1... I'm trying to get through the Temple of Chaos past, while leveling, but I always encounter parties of 4 dragons that always seem to overwhelm my party. After getting game over twice in a row, I tend to shut the PS1 down, because I don't think my PS1 controller can take the aftermath of a 3rd time in a row.

FF1WMC back on

Well, after doing some tinkering and cleaning, I still didn't have it working... But somehow, all of a sudden, the game started working... I really don't get my PS1 sometimes @_@
